Dumb and Dumber

Arab Times

KUWAIT CITY, July 17 : Police have arrested a young Kuwaiti man for allegedly practicing black magic and having sex with his victims, reports Alam Alyawm daily. The arrest came following a complaint filed by a divorced Kuwaiti woman accusing the man of having sex with her. The complainant said she met the magician in a chat room and he claimed to have powers to solve marital problems with her ex-husband. He then lured her to meet him in his apartment and ‘raped’ her. When police arrested the man he admitted to having sex with the woman. He added it is through inducing women to have sex with him he gets power to cure their ills. He has been referred to the authorities.

Mesay, 'CONSENSUAL SEX'.  What part of this is "rape"???  If stupid were a crime, the woman should be sent to jail.

LOL, I have no idea why stuff like this make it to the news in the first place. Surely it wasn't a busy day for news in Kuwait...

Many people still believe in things like black magic, though, mostly due to religious reasons. I'm not a religious person and I don't believe in these things but others do. This makes police matters a lot more complicated around here.

Personally, I'm in the agreement with you that it was consensual sex, unless he drugged her up or something, in which case it should be treated as rape.

Let's see what the courts make of this...

PS: I found your blog via your Lonely Planet forum profile. :-)

Hocus Poke-us!!!! (haaaaaa LOL in my office with people staring!) LOVE IT!

Nadia, I'm not religious, but I do believe in magic (but that's a long story for a long post sometime). I don't believe people should be believing that others will cure their problems - or that they should be paying for it.

I also agree that if he drugged her, charges should be brought.

Where on the Lonely Planet forum? Fasssscinating. :)

Thanks for commenting.
