Damn Sexy Eyes

My family took pictures on the beach and I couldn't open my eyes. I looked link an anglo-Chinese woman.  They have been very sensitive to light lately and I wanted to go back to the doctor to have my peepers checked.

I went to a highly-recommended opthamologist here in Virginia yesterday who told me that I can never wear contact lenses again - or risk blindness.  Apparently, the viral infection diagnosed in Kuwait was karatitis brought on my lense irritation.  I'm back to glasses and I hate it.  My eyes are back to being damaged again (after wearing contacts for the past few weeks), so I have to wait a few months before they can even consider me for lasic (oh gee - another trip to the States! Wouldn't that be awful? hmmmm)

The doc actually mentioned the "B" word (combo distance and reading glasses).  oooooh noooooo, I'm not THAT old and I'm not even going to discuss it.  (Not going to mention that dirty word on my blog neither.)  Told her to talk to the hand.  Bring on the reading glasses, but those other kind - aint gonna happen.  Not now.  Not later.  Nooooooo.  Next, I'll be tying my hair up in a bun and going grey (again, never going to happen).  Not this girl.

Ok, so I know that I'm a walking pity-party.  My sister is a graceful creature who immediately looks at any situation from a unique and interesting perspective, "So, you're telling me that God saved you from becoming blind today...."   She then went on to tell me again and again how good I look in glasses (good call on the pair, The Romanian!)  She has been making me feel much better and in her generous way has offered to help.  "It's my thing..." and continues making dinner for the house full of neighborhood boys she enjoys being surrogate mom to.  Yup, I'm blessed in many many ways and I know that.  Mashallah.

I know I'm looking at it the wrong way and wallowing perhaps in self-pity, but my whole life people have commented on how pretty my (boobs) eyes are and now I feel like I'm carrying an imperfection.  It is a very stupid perception and I've got to get over myself.  I hope they can do the lasic.  It would be nice to open my eyes in the morning and see what's around me!  That would be a new experience. 'Look!  There's the clock!  There's my big bottle of Flaxseed and Omega vitamins....'

You poor thing, I went through the self same thing about four years ago. I was so vain that I waited a month then tried some disposable lenses (just to double check the Doctors diagnosis) BIG mistake! Another few weeks of suffering and I decided surgery was the answer.I plucked up the courage and had both eyes done. My long distance vision is now great but I still need glasses for reading ( I can manage to read a text message without but it involves a fair bit of squinting )Here's wishing you a speedy recovery and a good result if you decide on surgery. i'm wearing glasses, since 6th grade, and i'm loving it. to me contacts are time wasting (too much maintenance, clean them, put them, remove them, buy new pair every now and then). as for lasic, the people i know, who've done it, tell me that they have dry eyes and don't feel comfortable. having somthing bothering me for a long period of time isn't my idea of solving another problem (Short-sightedness). also, some of them have to wear reading glasses after the operation. to me, a concave lens looks better than a convex one. finally, opposite-sex-wearing-glasses is a major turn-on for me :) . but at the end everyone has his own opinion and priorities

HAHA..like the part about how pretty your eyes are :) I too have to wear glasses, I do wear contacts on occasion, but the weather here seems to make them very dry. I would LOVE to do lasik and actually posted something about it last week on my blog. I don't mind the glasses, they can be very sexy, but it would be nicer to just wake up and see...I would love that!

I have worn glasses since before Kindergarten. I also have bi-focal lenses. It's really no big deal. One thing you need to protect is your vision. I also have a lazy eye which means that I really only use one eye to see with. So, protecting my one good eye has always been my top priority. I actually think that I look much better with glasses than without!

Nothing says "come hither" to a man more than stylish glasses on a lady.

Hmm, don't worry DG , wear nerdy glass's, bet it'd b cool. You dont need to see anything after you wake up , my eye sight is good but i still like the feeling of being half sleepy(not able to open my eyes completely) everyday early morning till i reach the bathroom. So don't worry girl.

Thanks for the comments everybody. I appreciate it.

Slaps, I don't use that kind of foul language on my blog. I find the B word quite offensive. The F word, however, is just fine. I regret to inform that I have rejected your comment; although I did like the second part where you complimented me. :)

I still think I had an eye virus in Kuwait. It wasn't just contacts - I had them out for several weeks (3) and I still had really itchy, burning, watery eyes. I think the viral infection brought on the dry eye and eye distress when I wore contacts.

I'm not a big fan of Sarah Palin, but I do like her glasses and I'm looking for a pair now.

Hi, I totally understand what you are going thru. I'm using glasses since 20 years and contact lenses since 10 years. The last two years, I was living in Dubai and I had almost every problem I could get including getting my cornea thinner, having eye ulser and infections in every occasion i can find...
I decided to have lasic and I'm loving it. This is greatest thing ever.
I just had intralase lasic surgery one month ago in Turkey, and i see perfectly!!! Now we moved to Kuwait and i'm ready for all those sunny or sandy days...:) Hope you will receive these good results too...
