ZAIN SUCKS!!!

Zain's online system for Quickpay is the WORST. I didn't have problems with it for a while, so the past several months, I've tried them again. No more.

SO MANY of my friends have had the same problem - over and over and over and over again (going back as far as 2006!): You input all your payment information, and on the final page where it asks you to hit a "confirm" button - and you do; instead of giving you a confirmation/receipt for printing as it should/usually does - it transfers you to an error page. If you go back (as the error page suggests) and confirm a second time, your payment will be deducted a second, third or how many other times you hit the button and receive error pages.

Nice little trick Zain plays, right?

When you call their Service Center, they will ask you to call back. And call back. And call back. And they apologize (thaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks), but the problem won't be resolved for weeks. I send faxes and e-mails and call continually - no one at Zain cares. I don't even get a response to written correspondence.

If they know there is a problem with the online system, should it have taken them 2 years to resolve it?

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE WHO IS EVEN REMOTELY THINKING OF GETTING A MOBILE NUMBER IN KUWAIT - DO NOT CHOOSE ZAIN.

And - my calls have been consistently dropping lately - as have most of my friends' who use Zain.

Why do I stay with them? Because I have had my number for 11 years and I can't transfer it to another provider. If I could, I would. In a nanosecond.

ZAIN SUCKS!

  2. Zain has the biggest racket going. I think someone there must have trained under the mob. Not only does their website payment system suck, their kiosks continually break down and their employees do not have a clue on how to fix anything. They also lie about everything. If you call, they say that they will get back to you in 48 hours. If they get back to you at all- usually not- it is weeks later. And don't even get me started on their Zain E-go for Internet. They claim it is unlimited access but it is not. They cut you off after a certian amount of downloading- varies from month to month, I assume according to their mood. They outright lie about it! Do not trust anything they say or have on paper. It is amazing what they get away with!

  4. Just register your credit card and they'll deduct money automatically at the end of every month. Why the hassle? :/

  5. Zain has legal ties with me( actually us) and I, being a representative, can't really bitch about it publicly ;).And, well I own a Wataniya card, so that,I guess, speaks about my personal preferences.
Kindly check my blog( I'm sorry if this sounds a bit like those nagging publicity ads!), have uploaded details about an upcoming concert by our musical group.
Mail me(e-mail address on the blog) if you/anyone you know, would be interested and like to attend.

  6. good thing i mad the switch over 5 years ago, not saying that wataniya doesn't have their problems but since i switched i never had any major issue with my phone :p
oh and dropping calls is not an issue with zain only... both companies suffer badly from it now (out dated networks?)
lets just hope the new blood will stir things up a bit

  8. Back when Zain was MTC, I spent hours at the head office in Shuwaikh going through the required idiocy to cancel my account. I left the office with officially stamped cancellation documents in hand. HOWEVER, my account was not cancelled and MTC continued to charge my CC account. My bank (CBK) would not cancel the automatic withdrawal without MTC approval, even though I had the "official" cancellation document in hand! No one at MTC or the bank would even look at the approved account cancellation documents. It took several years to straighten that mess out, with no refund of money to me, and only when I availed myself of the highest level of wasta I could access (a sympathetic Al Ghanim family elder).
