Expat and The City (American) called up and discovered that the Crowne Plaza and the Movenpick wouldn't allow single women to stay. Whaaaaaat??? What if you are a contractor/(legitimate) business woman and want a room? What's the deal? I don't see anything in the ad saying that you have to be married.
I strongly urge ALL single women in Kuwait to call the hotels and make a big stink if they say they won't sell a room to a single woman.
I wanted to try out a new spa and hotel instead of always going to the same one. The summer rates are less than half the normal rate. If I’m going to be single again (paying for myself) then this is all I can afford. Lol!
ReplyDeleteI was told NO because I'm an American girl with Kuwaiti residency. They should just say "no boys allowed to your room" like some of the other hotels do. I’m not there to meet men. I want to go to the spa and relax. I even asked if there were two American girls per room would it be okay and they said no. It’s not fair! :’(
I am a single American man staying in Kuwait for a month and a half this summer. I was very disappointed to read your blog post.

ReplyDeleteIf you are staying for a month or more I wouldn't bother with a hotel. You can easily find short-term apartments most likely for less. If your company is paying, however, who cares?
