I’m totally depressed/oppressed at the moment. I’ve had some poop happen at work and it is the holiday season. First, Thanksgiving away from family is always hard. Next, it will be Eid and I’m not looking forward to another “I’m too busy to see you” day, making me feel ever so important and valued. I’ve been checking into flights to DC all morning – hoping to be able to surprise my family at the dinner table for Thanksgiving. I talked to my mom on the phone and she sounded down so I want to go even more.
Sometimes bad things happen at home at work, with friends, with people you love. Sometimes you feel like crap and you just want to depend on someone and then the someone you depend on most lets you down. I’m not having a good day. I really would like to get on that flight home tomorrow night.
It will pass I’m sure. I rarely have to depend on anyone, anytime so it just makes me a stronger person – and makes me value Desert Dawg much more. Everything happens for a reason.
Pass me the chocolate and my fuzzy slippers. When I get my salary, I'm buying myself jewelry and flowers.
lol thanksgiving, a holiday to commemorate the union of European pilgrims and Native Americans with the latter saving the former's lives in the new world, only to have the favor returned with their lives and dignity.
ReplyDeleteCrowd goes: "USA USA USAAAAAAAAAA HOO HOO HOOO !!!"
In the spirit of Festivus, Happy Thanksgiving day to you though :)
Hello,
ReplyDeleteFirst post here. Sorry to hear about this. If there is any consolation, it happens to me to during Eids, as I am away and missed several Eids and family in Kuwait. But you're right. It will pass.
I'm so sorry you're feeling down. But I am also very happy you have family to talk to, depend on, and share your 'down' times with -- even if not physically. You're absolutely right, everything does happen for a reason... hang in there -- that reason will be evident soon enough. I hope you feel better.
ReplyDeletei know :(it is very hard being away from your family, and i know exactly how it feels when ur down and u need someone to talk to or someone to listen and there isn't anyone :( i hope u can surprise ur family , amd take me with u plz lol i really LOVE DC
ReplyDeleteI feel you .. and hate most the part " I'm to busy to see you "
ReplyDeleteBut as you said it will pass and later on you will look back and laugh about yourself :))

ReplyDeleteHey D.G., Check your email. You are welcome to join us for Thanksgiving. (I'll even buy some chocolates.)
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving day DG and wish you happy Eid holidays.
ReplyDeleteHay DG,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear that you were down during TG. I totally understand how that feels at the moment. I just passed my first TG away from home; but, had no idea how difficult it was going to be, until I heard my family's voice over the phone and yeap, then I knew exactly how difficult it was to want to be somewhere so bad and not being able to go.
It is also ironic that around this time other people find time to add to your heartache by deciding to get on your nerves.
Anyways, just wanted to say hi and hopefully find you more cheered by now!!
