And now with rape, you have an added bonus....

.... and with this rape, I thee wed....

What are we - in the dark phuckin ages or what??? Kuwait is going back hundreds of years.

First, I commend the "senior official in the Ministry of Interior" who brought up the fact that the police man SHOULD FACE CHARGES! He is a POLICE OFFICER. They should be above reproach - "to protect and serve". They should set an example for the rest of society to follow. Their duty is to ENFORCE THE LAW OF THE COUNTRY.

Leading me to question Kuwait's higher-ranking lawmakers: what kind of backwards MPs does Kuwait have that would collaborate on this kind of crime? Don't they have daughters? If one of their daughters were raped, would they be marrying her off to her rapist?

Let's talk about the fact that the guy held the poor victim hostage for 4 days, raping her. So, as an added "bonus" - he marries her and what - subjects her to endless years of rape and torture? What kind of justice is this? Rape isn't about sex; it is about control and mental sickness. The guy will most likely go on to rape more women. Let's face it, Kuwait, there are enough prostitutes in Kuwait to take care of the sex drives of anyone out there. Rape is rape. NON-CONSCENTUAL - as in "No. Stop." (or in my case - 'I will pluck out your eyeballs, take a steak knife to your penis, and come after not only you, but your entire phucking family...)

Again - why do I read the newspaper???

  3. I read an article the other day regarding this, tis horrendous how they put it...'raped her, countlessly' basically placing emphasis on the incident. no heart? no heart indeed. not in whom we should regard as superior beings, mentors, etc nor in the media.

Maybe, just maybe the humiliation of having a wife who he has to rape will get the best of him? I hope so.

  6. Sp4rkster - I am sure you meant this in the best possible way... but what the hell did you mean by "Maybe, just maybe the humiliation of having a wife who he has to rape will get the best of him."? WHO is being humiliated???

  7. Desert Girl: Sorry bout the double post up there, wasn't aware.

I know that she too will be humiliated, but i was speaking of the humiliation that will ensue by his family and friends upon finding out he did such a thing. Kuwaiti men usually are proud, conceited figures. If their name is put into ruin, then they're nothing (the one thing they try so hard not to be)

  8. What I totally didn't get was that it appears the woman's FAMILY accepted the offer; it was the municipal court who did not. What a horrid life to be stuck to a man who would capture and rape you!

  9. I notice that the opinion of the woman wasn't even mentioned while listing the reasons why they shouldn't be married. So they would seek the approval of his department, then Ministry of Interior, and then the embassy - and marry her off to him??

I would start with asking the woman what exactly she would have preferred to do - and I suspect that her wishes would be pretty much in line with the Desert Girl's suggestions that involved his eyeballs, steak knife and penis.

And then, probably, there would be no need to contact any of the above authorities for "approval".

  10. Why don't they start publishing criminals complete names in the paper? This kind of shit wouldn't be an issue.

  11. Just wanted to say that I fully agree with you.

I've always frowned over rapists. These bad bloods can go to prostitutes if they are that much frustrated.

Fine, the young age for men is normally too much to handle, but this doesn't mean that young men start raping women.

Everybody has women in his family after all...so everybody MUST pay respect to women of other fellow citizens.
